After some reading on a fair called Miami
or something like that, some works and photos I saw in bad reproductions, I felt like I had been on a huge Central Asian Bazaar and I came back to some normal reading (in between I had 10 Khinkali, 3-4 beers and 3-4 wodkas), back to Franklin's post on http://artblog.net/?name=2007-12-10-11-05-meis
I read it twice and had my joy reading the comments. Quite in the end the discussion goes about a need for (new) art critics with an eye, and a mission and fire and the artist Catfish mentions: "...Clem was the only one left who could do that and all he would say was that Olitski was the best living painter (end of statement),..." and when I the term Olitski memorized- I heard first about him on artblog.net a couple of month ago- I googled his images, remembered some of his works and somehow happened to arrive at two mind-blowing interviews at http://www.seriousart.org (hey, I also thought...what a fun of a name ;-)), but it was a stunning reading, made my mind clear for a while. If you came reading up to here, I am sure you'll like it:An interview with the sculptor Michael Buzacotthttp://www.seriousart.org/archive/buzacott_interview.htmlAn interview with the artist sculptor Ian McKayhttp://www.seriousart.org/archive/McKay_interview.htmlIf you liked it, post a short commentLabels: art, artists, Caucasus, Greenberg, interviews, Kaukasus, markets, Miami, Neue Kunst, New Art, New Picture, sculptures, Serious Art, seriousart.org
