George from artblog.net found out, that Mertskhala was quite a cool name in history for a horse. I was buff...
PATH OF FATE It's daybreak. I must have tired you with my confession. My caravan is heading for Gulansharo. Join us, as long as fate has put you in our path. Accept this robe from me. Bring the horse! I've chosen this horse for you myself. Look at this beauty! A horse worthy of a king! Remember, his name is Mertskhala, or Swallow. You're giving me a horse and a robe? Allah is giving them to you. For luck... Durmishkhan. A good deed will never vanish without leaving a trace. Never. Don't forget my name. It's Osman-aha.
English subtitles to Legend of Suram Fortress The Ashik Kerib http://tinyurl.com/7a4xy
Originally I had tried to think of a name for this beautiful horse of yours. I thought since this spotted gray horse was 4 or 5 years old he would probably already have a name better than I could make. So I was happy you found the first name he knows, this is best. Then I googled MERTSKHALA. I did not know of the Suram Fortress or of the story so I was surprised to find the English subtitles for the movie. I thought of this, as if I was there in Georgia. I thought of the first owner who chose the name MERTSKHALA when he was a colt. The choice of a name was not an accident of chance. Yes, swallow is a nice name but it was not chosen by chance. This was a proud choice of a name, a name with a special link to Georgian history, an important name, chosen by someone who knew something of the story. From here in NYC it seems like a minor miracle.
Excuse the english, my german is no better than google's
Yes George, this is a miracle, that makes my heart warm. And also, its a horse from Georgia, a film from Georgia, and the one who found this out is: George
