Marja-Leena, I only got my kids, because I came to Georgia (by accident). Because here is a man at his 30ies (I am 40) without a family and kids like a not real man. If I stayed in the West, I'd probably would be still a notorious single and marriage-hater and miss all the joy and happiness to be a father of Hansi and Niza. Life got more serious, and art slowed down a bit, but I can go tommorrow evening in my small studio and make paintings with my son and daughter and have conversations with them.
To choose the "right" partner was always a big problem for me, because all have of course as everybody bigger or lesser minus'es, but the art is to make a living with somebody, wether you fight sometimes, hate sometimes and love sometimes. (I hope my wife Teona won't find that post ;-) Maybe to you this all is very simplified, sorry if yes.
