Spiegel has a small special on Baselitz with some remakes of his older paintings from the 60s. For me the remakes are not successful (Spiegel called it "Breezy revision"), but the random news was, that he sold his castle in Derneburg in Lower Saxony and is going to a new studio in Bavaria designed by Herzog & de Meuron.

Getting hit by an artist: Souza

John Henry Wurdeman's paintings from Signaghi
I see him quite often behind his easel painting Georgian landscapes in and around the Alazani-valley in the wine yard of Eastern Georgia, Kakheti. See Johns wunderbare paintings here
John also has a marvellous collection of Russian and Soviet Painting in his Lazare Gallery in Charles City County between Richmond and Williamsburg, Virginia.
One of my favourites are the war paintings of Poiter Maltsev, see them here
The New York Times has today a Travel Special "In Georgia, a Pilgrimage to the Cradle of Wine" by C.J.Chivers on the same region,Kakheti, where John paints. There is also a link to a photo serie by Justyna Mielnikiewicz.
I only post here one of my own photos, the view from my house in Ninigori near Lagodekhi.
